Deputies Identify Body Found in Madison County

DENMARK, TN (abc24.com) - The Madison County Sheriff's Office has identified the body of a young man found shot to death alongside a rural road southwest of Jackson early Thursday morning.

Deputies located the body in the town of Denmark on the side of the road on the 2600-block of Denmark-Jackson Road just before 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 15.

The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Lazar Arnez Smith of Jackson. Smith appeared to have died from multiple gunshot wounds, but his body has been transferred to the Forensic Center in Nashville for an autopsy.
