MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Bass Pro is hoping to get the green light from the city on their design plans for the Pyramid.

The company wants to place huge signs on the Pyramid, but it's attracting a bit of unwanted attention.

The designs submitted to the city call for 90 foot signs on each side of the Pyramid; that's 100 times larger than what's allowed by code.

Wednesday afternoon, Bass Pro reps went before the Design Review Board, which ultimately determines the appearance of downtown businesses.

Board members will vote on the proposed signage later this month.

That's just downright tacky.

Let them put the sign up. If the city council doesn't like it they can always take it down and change the name. If Bass Pro were to ever leave, maybe put in something a little more fitting for Memphis. A night club. Maybe name it, "Bust A Cap Lounge" or maybe "Booty Call" or even "The Gold Grille".
