MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis woman ended up behind bars after she drunk-dialed 911 in front of the police officers she had already called to her home.
Police responded to a 911 call reporting a prowler on the 2100-block of Sparks Street. When officers arrived at the residence, they looked through a window and saw a woman laying on a mattress with seven open 24-ounce cans of Bud Ice beer.
After the officers shouted to wake up the woman, she yelled that she was scared and disgusted with them because they threw away her plate of food. She said she would not come out of the house until a different set of officers came, and proceeded to call 911 five more times with officers still outside her home.
Another officer arrived on the scene and finally coaxed the woman, identified as 45-year-old Terry Nider, out of her home. According to the police affidavit, Nider had to be assisted to walk, smelled of alcohol and had glassy, watery eyes. She was also screaming obscenities at the officers, the document states.
Terry Nider was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct and Aggravated Non-emergency 911 Calls. She was booked at the Shelby County Jail on $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 5.
