DYERSBURG, TN (abc24.com) - It's been 24 hours since Karen Swift's body was identified, but the Dyer County Sheriff's Office and the TBI still aren't releasing any information on how she died.
While authorities may not be saying anything, Dyersburg residents are.
"It's very uneasy," Susie Dial told abc24.com. She say's a cloud of fear has been hovering over her ever since 44-year-old Swift was found dead. "Just knowing that they're out here, you don't know who it is - you could be looking at them in the stores or wherever."
Rachel Craighton told abc24.com she feels the same way. "It is kind of scary to think that there is somebody out there."
Dyersburg mother Callye Norsworthy said she operates on the side of caution. "To know that she was found dead and the way she was found it makes me think that it was someone she may not have known. It puts me at risk as well… It's kind of scary to think in our little town this could happen.
Police have not released a motive, nor have they named any suspects in the case.
