DESOTO COUNTY, MS (abc24.com) - This summer you may notice something new on Mississippi roads. It's called "MyCar" and is being built in Horn Lake, Mississippi by GreenTech Automotive.

The car is part of a growing green market not only here, but around the world.

"They're built for urban environments, corporate campuses, local deliveries," says GreenTech's Mariane McInerney. MyCars hit the streets July 6th.

McInerney describes the factory where they're built as the Willy Wonka of the car world. Most people don't even know the factory is in Horn Lake.

"We've been here for over a year," she says. "We employee over 100 people locally and are just so excited to launch our first vehicle."

The tiny two-seater is an all electric car that can travel up to 35 miles an hour.

"You have to be aware of what roads you drive them on," McInerney says. They aren't for long distances or highway driving, but for those sticking close to home, "you can use it for anything."

"We've got a security company as a customer, they can be used in airports, or to do our daily errands."

The cars look small on the outside, but on the inside feel the same as a full-size sedan.

"It has almost all of the amenities you'd find in your car," McInerney says. "You've got a radio, CD player, all options in your car you can add to this car."

MyCar's starting price is $15,000. They can cost up to $29,000.

Most won't be staying in Mississippi, but shipped halfway around the world.

"We've got a great deal of orders coming in from Europe," she says. "Our first distributor is in Denmark. We launched with them last week."

MyCars go from 50 to more than 100 miles on a charge. It costs about two cents a mile.

The company is also building a second factory in Tunica.
