Equipment Worth Thousands Stolen from Richland Elementary

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Thieves broke into Richland Elementary School in East Memphis, stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

Memphis Police were called to the school around 8:00am on January 30, 2012. Investigators stated 18 computers and a projector were taken from 10 portable classrooms. According to a Memphis City Schools spokesperson, the value of the equipment is approximately $24,000. The cost of damages to the school is still to be determined.

Officers are still investigating; so far, there are no suspects in custody.

Good ol' tax dollars at work. Where was school security. I guess they don't work weekends. Well thieves do.
