PANGBURN, Ark. (AP) - Officials say a convicted murderer who escaped from an Arkansas prison this week has been captured after he was found in a cave.

Arkansas Department of Correction spokeswoman Shea Wilson said 33-year-old Curtis Reese Jr. was captured near Pangburn Thursday morning.

Officials say Reese escaped from the Tucker Unit on Monday when he and another inmate hid in an empty water tank atop an 18-wheel tractor trailer.

The other inmate, 40-year-old James B. Ryan, was back in custody Monday afternoon.

Reese was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder in Saline County in the 1997 deaths of Eric Ogden and Lance Kelloms.

Pangburn is about 85 miles north of the Tucker Unit.
