FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - Montana native and Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino is in "stable" condition after a motorcycle crash.

The university has issued a news release with a statement from Petrino's family. Family members say he's expected to make a full recovery from the Sunday night accident. They're also asking for privacy.

State police spokesman Bill Sadler says the crash happened on Arkansas Highway 16, about 20 miles from Fayetteville. Sadler has declined to identify the hospital where Petrino was taken or whether he's still there.

Petrino is a motorcycle enthusiast who's talked in the past about going for rides around nearby Beaver Lake.

Petrino is a Helena, Mont., native who played quarterback at Helena Capital High and Carroll College.
