MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A New Year's nightmare for a South Memphis family. A teenager on her way to a neighborhood store says she was kidnapped and raped.

"She didn't deserve that, any other girl don't deserve nothing like that," said the victim's sister.

Family members say the 15-year-old left the house around 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve for the short walk to the store. They say her older sister called her a few minutes later and the girl said she was almost to the store. Several later calls went straight to voicemail.

"She said two guys snatched her and took her to, I don't know if it is an abandoned house," said the girl's uncle. "She said the house only had a couch in it."

"That's all she could remember, but she seemed very distraught," he added.

"She said one dude was holding her mouth and the other her neck, but we just really don't know," her sister said.

ABC 24 News does not identify victims of sexual assault.

Family members say the men were gone when the teen woke up. She eventually made her way home.

"She seemed very distraught like she had been through something traumatizing," her uncle said.

"I was real scared and worried when I heard from her in hours," her sister said. "All night, I haven't had any sleep, that's my little sister, she is nothing but 15-years-old, a lot of things been going on."

Family members say the girl spent most of New Year's Day at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital being evaluated and treated for injuries.

"She had a bruise on her face and bruises on her neck," her sister said.

Memphis Police are investigating, and could release more details as early as Wednesday.

"Everyone is pulling together," her uncle said. "Keep us in your prayers."

We have heard from her Uncle and her Sister. Her Mom and Dad must have been at the hospital with her at the time of the interviews.
