MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A father is behind bars after stabbing his infant son's mother and abducting the child, triggering an Amber Alert Thursday morning.
Memphis police were called to Methodist North just before 1 a.m. on Thursday, January 31 after a woman was dropped off with multiple stab wounds. Investigators say the victim is the mother of Adrien Delk's 2-month-old son, who drove off with the child after he left the victim at the hospital.
The victim was airlifted to The MED in extremely critical condition, but has since been upgraded to non-critical.
An Amber Alert was issued for the child, Adrien Delk, Jr., and the child was located unharmed a short time later at Delk Sr.'s mother's home in north Shelby County, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
Delk, Sr. was later charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault - Domestic Violence and Custodial Interference. He is being held without bond at the Shelby County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court February 1.
