MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP, abc24.com) - An East Memphis man has been charged with reckless homicide after his son was fatally shot in the head.
Police say 60-year-old Hershel Jones was showing his son, Rodney Jones, his gun when it fired and struck him. When officers arrived at the scene on Wednesday, they found a revolver on top of a dresser with a used shell casing.
Hershel Jones told officers he accidentally shot his son while he was showing him how to use the gun.
Jones was jailed on a $100,000 bond. Rodney Jones' death has been ruled a homicide.
