Federal Judge Allows Shelby Co. Municipal Schools Vote

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A federal judge has ruled in favor of Shelby County municipalities voting on whether to create their own school districts.

Judge Samuel "Hardy" Mays delivered his ruling Thursday, July 12, the day before early voting begins for the August 2 election.

The Shelby County suburbs of Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland and Millington are seeking voter approval to form their own public school districts and avoid becoming part of the merger between the Memphis and Shelby County school systems, which are set to combine in 2013.

The Shelby County Commission had sued to stop the votes, claiming that the municipal school districts are unconstitutional.

While Judge Mays will allow the vote, he added the constitutionality of municipal school districts must still be proved. The judge will set a hearing date Friday morning.

Now the true tax payers can vote to get away from these leech azz public warzones called memphis schools,,,good deal..

So does this mean Memphis has had an unconstitutional school district all of these years while the black community was in charge or only when the suburbs decided that they wanted their own school districts like Memphis has? Go Munis!!!

So the judge thinks municipal schools might be unconstitutional? MCS is unconstitutional?
