OXFORD, MS (abc24.com) - No more warnings; a campus-wide ban on smoking at Ole Miss now means fines for violators.
The ban was enacted last August for all University of Mississippi property. During the fall semester warning citations were given out, but with the new semester, $25 fines are now in effect.
Opponents of the ban have held protests and filed petitions since august.
Since the policy was announced, ole miss stepped up help for faculty, staff and students who want to quit smoking.
