MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis firefighters are still investigating what started a fire that destroyed a vacant house in Cordova Wednesday afternoon.
The Memphis Fire Department was called to 2276 Burlington Drive just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31. When they arrived on the scene, 15 units worked to extinguish the heavy fire at the two-story house. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes.
Neighbors told abc24.com on the scene that vagrants may have been living in the vacant home. There were no injuries reported.
The damage is estimated at $175,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
