'Food Fight' between ABC24 Bulldog, City Council

It was a food fight. Not the funny kind you see in the movies, but a very serious one between the Memphis City Council and ABC24'S 'Bulldog' Mike Matthews.

I just hate how people with certain positions/powers think they can just do whatever the heck they want without any concern for others! Thank you so much Mike for shedding light. If you ask me, the CITY COUNCIL in Memphis is a larger part of the problem we are facing, too busy concerned about each other than actually handling and resolving issues at hand. WAY TO GO MIKE! KEEP IT UP!

The city council cannot trim enough fat from the budget to keep libraries open? Really? Man, it is time for major pay cuts for the city council and mayor. Fed-ex forum, pyramid and fairgrounds giveaways, money poured into over-priced tourist traps (Beale Street) are all reasons this city cannot ever meet budget, not to mention the undeserved salaries and perks at City Hall. Our kids cannot even get decent lunches in our public schools anymore. I remember the smell of fresh baked bread everyday in Memphis schools when I attended back in the 1960's and 70's. Us kids looked forward to the school prepared lunch, vegetables and all. There were no sodas available either for elementary school students. Those early school lunches led to my healthy eating choices today. Now a kid gets reheated chicken nuggets, cold cuts or pizza, anything that can be quickly served. Gone are he hot, fresh cooked meals. So basically we are getting less for more out of the City and its school system. Time for some soul searching among the council. Let's see some effort, some signal that you get it, and are willing to make the tough decisions, like pay cuts for a job poorly done.

Way to go, MIke! Tell the truth about the arrogance of these buzzards. And name the names of who's paying for their own lunch and who's sticking the poor taxpayer for theirs.
