MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A member of the Ford family is out of jail after being arraigned Monday on DUI and drug charges.
Newton "Jake" Ford was arrested early Sunday morning. He is the son of former Memphis congressman Harold Ford, Sr.
Police were called to a disturbance near Winchester and Hacks Cross in southeast Memphis. An officer says Jake Ford was trying to leave the scene and smelled alcohol. Police also found marijuana in Ford's car, and said Ford became belligerent as he was arrested.
According to the police report ford had a blood alcohol content of .142; the limit in Tennessee is .08.
