Former Shelby County General Sessions Court Clerk Otis Jackson has avoided trial on charges of official misconduct.

Now if this was regular Joe citizen with 4 felony indictments... do you think he would be offered diversion,community service.,no jail time.What are these judges thinking? They are part of the problem. Somebody needs to keep a very close eye on this sovereign citizen.

What's wrong with picture. I am a resident of Memphis and can't even get a restaurant job becuase I was in the wrong place at the wrong time in 2009. I have been a secretary for over 20 years. Somebody please give me a second chance, not to run the city but, just to take care of myself. We need to stop allowing the system to destroy the people they are suppose to serve. That God for FAFSA where I am able to do something everyday to better myself.

Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence. Thomas Jefferson Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both. John F. Kennedy I have absolutely no idea what my generation did to enrich our democracy. We dropped the ball. We entered a period of complacency and closed our eyes to the public corruption of our democracy. Wynton Marsalis I do not expect otis to be shamed.

Memphis is just a Detroit South with all the crooks and corruption. This will all lead to financial downfall soon.

of course, we would not expect him to be sent to jail. what a joke and the citizens of memphis will reelect him to another big $$$ position. how crazy. only in memphis, time for everyone to move away, far away, if you can. young people with college degrees: unless u must live here due to parental responsibilities, get out, now and do not look back., go west or east.

you h got to be kidding - this is exactly what is wrong with our judical system..... jackazzeslike this NOT being held accountable for their actions. this judge needs to be investigated.
