MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Former University of Memphis basketball player Jeremy Hunt has been charged with DUI, public intoxication and reckless driving for an incident that happened on October 23, 2011.
According to a police affidavit, Hunt rear-ended another car. When cops arrived on the scene, Hunt's breath reeked of alcohol and he couldn't walk straight or keep his eyes open.
This isn't the first time Hunt has been in trouble with the law.
In January 2005, he was charged with domestic assault for hitting his then girlfriend. A judge later dropped those assault charges.
Later that year, Hunt broke his hand during a fight on Beale Street.
After that, former Tigers coach John Calipari kicked Hunt off the team. Hunt was later reinstated to the Tigers roster in 2006.
Hunt is out of jail on a $2,000 bond.
He is expected in court Monday morning.
