This is why we ned consolidation. We pay 911 fees on our cellphone and linephone yet if I need help I have to worry what county I am in, if the right dispatcher will receive my call. If Germantown or Bartlett can't help everyone that calls 911 why answer. Just let the calls roll to Memphis. They may be slow but atleast they will not be 8 days slow.

Sounds to me the 911 center is a busy place. People are multi-tasking as a part of their everyday job. Nothing wrong with that, but if some feel that we need more staffing to handle occasional calls of this type, they need to pony up and send their checks to their local PD, earmarked for 911 dispatch staffing increase. Everybody wants all the bells and whistles, as long as somebody else pays for it. I think these interviews show that the situation was handled properly and thouroghly, given the resources available! The blame game needs to stop. Like a previous poster said, "let's find the killers!"

In reading the transcript of the official investigation re the 911 call, it is quite clear that the G.P.D. Call-Center is comprised of staff-members that are fools. It would further be evident that the G.P.D. considers the Wright family and the General Public to also be fools. The fact remains: the G.P.D. and C.P.D. have the blood of "Ren" Wright on their incompetent and insensitive hands. Which begs the question: How many other individuals unknown to the General Public exist that have experienced such deliberate indifference?

why do I feel that this is just another smoke screen? I mean, even in the transcripts, you can tell someone dropped the ball. Sure, it may not have saved his life, considering the overkill that took place, but at least he wouldn't have been left out there like trash in such and undignified way. R.I.P. Mr. Wright, you didn't deserve this!
