Germantown City Attorney Resigns after DUI Arrest

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The senior prosecuting attorney for the City of Germantown resigned from his post following a DUI arrest Tuesday night.

58-year-old Joe Wyatt was arrested by Memphis police and charged with DUI, Possession of a Handgun while Intoxicated, Public Intoxication, Reckless Driving and Refusal to Submit to a BAC Test. He was booked at the Shelby County Jail just before 11 p.m. on March 6 and has since been released on bond.

A statement from the City of Germantown was released Wednesday, March 7, that read, "Effective immediately Joe Lee Wyatt, senior prosecuting attorney for the City of Germantown, has resigned from all positions with the City. There will be no further comment on the subject."

Wyatt is scheduled to appear in court on March 8.

Wonder what that boy, Wyatt, was doing in Memphis? I thought Germantown had it all!
