MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Grizzlies Zach Randolph and Tony Allen shared a bit of love with local mothers Monday, February 13, 2012. The pair hosted a Valentine’s Day party for mothers and children of the Memphis Family Shelter. It all took place at the Westin Hotel on Beale Street.
The mothers got to kick-back and were given manicures and pedicures as their kids were entertained and given snacks. Randolph and Allen even helped the kids make cards for their moms. The two said the party was simply about giving back to the community.
"It's real important just to give back and be able to help out and make these kids feel good,” Randolph told abc24.com.
"Sharing is caring and you know anytime I can get the opportunity to help some people I take advantage of it. It was a great idea teaming up with Zach with this and hopefully we can make it an annual thing," said Allen.
The Memphis Family Shelter provides transitional housing and support services for homeless mothers and their children.
