HALLS, TN (abc24.com) - A West Tennessee police officer has been indicted for official misconduct.

TBI agents arrested Halls police officer Jason Colvin on Tuesday, June 5.

Investigators say Colvin took a handgun from a convicted felon while on duty and tried to sell that stolen handgun at a pawn shop.

The TBI has been investigating for nearly two months after receiving a complaint.

In addition to the misconduct charge, Colvin is also indicted on theft.

He has been suspended without pay.
