MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A big turn-out is expected at Hamilton Elementary School Monday night. Parents will be meeting with school officials to talk about the possibility of closing the school.
It's part of the Shelby County School Board's plan to shut down several schools ahead of the upcoming merger.
Hamilton Elementary could accept students from Norris Elementary, but many parents from Norris don't like the idea of their kids being hauled off to another school.
"It's risking our children's education over saving a dollar, because that's all it is," said parent Laquinton Golden.
The public hearing is set for 5:30 p.m.
