Let's see an aspiring superintendent versus an achieving supeprintendent. Keep that which works. Send Cash back to his former failing schookl system in Florida.

SEEING AS HOW MCS GAVE UP THERE CHARTER TO MAKE SCS TAKE THEM OVER. I DON'T SEE WHERE THEY SHOULD HAVE A SAY-SO IN ANYTHING NOW. JOHN AITKEN WAS DOING A FINE JOB FOR SCS SYSTEM HE SHOULD BE RETAINED AND CASH LET GO SIMPLE AS THAT. WE DON'T HAVE, NOR NEED, TO SPEND A MILLION DOLLARS TO FIND A NEW SUPER. THIS IS JUST SIMPLE IGNORANT POLITICS IN MEMPHIS AGAIN.

i don't care who they hire for the job - the school system will not get better until you have parents that actually give a crap. any school that does well has high levels of parent participation - period / schools that are rate poorly - look at the parents ( or parent in most cases )

One thing about Memphis, SPEND big bucks to bring in an incompetent nincompoop to be paid big bucks to screw up again. Select someone based on MERIT and not on race or good ole boy syndrome.Mr Cash should be an example to avoid in the future.STOP with the large salaries, let them earn their pay based on results, good results not so-so performance.

I thought Dr aiken had a contarct through 2015. Sounds like sour grapes from Cash. I am sure the new "Unified" school Board will do a search in the tradition that the MCS did. These are the people who bought us Dr Cash's predecessor. She was so memorable I can't even remeber here name. Additionally, if the Unified Board is heavily weighted with old MCS blood, the new candidate will have to be a minority regarless of the qualifications.
