Henning Man Drowns Swimming in Mississippi River

Searchers have recovered the body of a man who drowned while swimming in the Mississippi River upstream from Memphis.

How could anybody swim in that sewer? Much less put even a toe in that toxic sludge. Chlordane, dioxin, benzene, nitrates, pesticides, herbicides, you name it and it is in that water. Farm activities and fertilizers are the source of the nitrates and the dead zone in the gulf. The rest is from industry. The chemical companies and refineries do not line the banks of the river for the view.
