MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees, holiday fun for the family, opens on Saturday, November 19, 2011, and benefits Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
The event has been going on for close to 60 years and has been benefitting Le Bonheur since 1990. In the past, proceeds from the event have helped imporve cardiovascular services, neonatal intensive care and bought ambulances dedicated to transporting Le Bonheur patients.
At The Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees, Santa Claus will arrive via helicopter at 9:00 a.m. on the 19th, ready to pose for pictures through December 24th. Families walking through the forest will be treated to animated characters in a snowy setting including teddy bears, elves at work and penguins playing in the snow.
The event is at The Pink Palace Museum (3050 Central Avenue) and open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from noon until 5:00 p.m. Fridays in December, The Enchanted Forest will be open until 9:00 p.m.
Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and children. Children under 2 years old are free.
