BASSFIELD, Miss. (AP) - A hunting trip took a gruesome turn when a human skull and bones were found in woods in Bassfield.
Jefferson Davis County Sheriff's Department Investigator Roger Speed tells WLBT TV hunters located the remains Saturday. The skull and two leg bones were found around 10 a.m.
Speed said the remains may belong to a person who went missing three or four years ago, but dental records would have to confirm their identity.
The State Crime Lab is also investigating.
Authorities do not suspect foul play and said more information will be available after an autopsy.
