MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the fatal shooting of another teen in the Berclair area early Monday morning.
Memphis police were called to the 3700-block of Faxon Avenue around 1 a.m. on Monday, May 14. When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to The MED in critical condition, but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. He was later identified as Zachary Smith.
Investigators developed 16-year-old Aarin Prichard as a suspect in the shooting. Upon questioning, Prichard told officers the shooting was an accident. He was arrested and charged with Reckless Homicide.
