MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - It's time to go dancing! The University of Memphis Tigers are headed to Michigan for the NCAA Tournament, with Tiger Nation right behind them.
It's a 13 hour trip by car, 2 hours by plane; a direct flight on Delta will currently cost you around $600 roundtrip. But, many Tigers fans hook up with a local tried and true charter company for these trips.
Shortly after it was announced the Memphis Tigers are headed to Auburn Hills, Michigan for the Big Dance, the phones at Bartlett Travel lit up.
"We had calls last night starting after the announcement. They rang until 10. Started again this morning at 7," said Janice Bomar, General Manager for Bartlett Travel. "It's real exciting; I've been doing this for 10 years with football and basketball."
She says business came swiftly after Tiger fans found out the team's destination for the Big Dance.
"It's exciting for everybody they got this far. We get to go to the NCAA tournament and hopefully next week we'll go to the next round. There's people that travel with us over and over every year," she said.
Michael Arndt is one of those people. "This team to me is the number 1 team in the United States. They're ready, they're ready to win, win it all."
Bartlett Travel team has arranged a direct Air Charter to Auburn Hills, Michigan with hotel accommodations for $1,449.00 per person for two nights based on double occupancy and $1,765.00 single occupancy.
