MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The Memphis Police Department released the name of the officer who shot a suspect outside a convenience store.

Police were called to the Quick & Easy on the 900-block of S Highland St just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23 in response to a 911 call that three armed men were planning robbing someone.

When officers arrived, they saw one person leaning into a vehicle. As an officer approached, the suspect pulled a gun from the vehicle and pointed it at police. The officer fired at the suspect, wounding him. He was transported to The MED in critical condition.

Officer Christopher Ross was routinely relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. He has served as a Memphis officer since July 2007.

The suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Bo Moore, was charged with Aggravated Assault. Investigators also tied him to an armed robbery of the Triple J Grocery on the 1100-block of Walker Ave on December 7, 2012, and charged Moore with Aggravated Robbery.
