MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Local talk show host Thaddeus Matthews is being questioned by Memphis police detectives after he posted a picture on his Facebook page that showed a small girl being forced to perform oral sex on a man. He said he was just trying to help.

Matthews says not only did he get sick after seeing the picture, he got angry.

"To think that a man would do this to a child, force a child to do something like this was totally sickening… who is depraved enough to do this to a child?" he asks. "Whatever it takes to save a child is what I'm willing to do."

What Matthews did was post the picture on his Facebook page for close to an hour, "so we can find this depraved individual that was forcing this child to do this despicable act."

"Somebody must do something to protect this child," he says, but admits, "against better judgment I posted that pic."

Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich says to anybody who's thinking about posting or sending pornographic images of children in hopes of helping that child, don't.

"You may think you're trying to help but you're committing a felony, a very serious felony," she says. "Anybody that thinks by posting pornographic images of children they're helping children, I'm very confused by that."

Matthews says he didn't intend to commit a crime. He says while all the attention is focused on him, it should be focused on someone else.

"The initial person that sent this on Instagram is a guy named Rollie Craig. Why aren't we searching for Rollie Craig?"

He says, "There was no criminal of malicious intent it was only about saving a child."

Memphis police are still investigating.

He has no valid reason for posting porn of any type. No one is above the law and he should be prosecuted. Had he contacted the authorities before making the decision to post the photo would have shown a true desire to help. Reproducing a photo showing sexual acts of children is pornography. There is never an excuse for displaying loathsome behavior. Once on the internet, its there forever. Throw the book at him and those involved with the abuse of a child. What do you Really know MZNTEGRITII? Seems like you should be questioned by the police or else stop making jokes about a heinous offense, it isn't funny, its tragic.

He is a damn lie. Go to his facebook page. He posted that picture to show what happens to children when they mammas date low lifes and chooses to have a man in their life. He is lying. MPD don't believe that. He lying. A girl by the name of Latresa admitted to sending him the picture cause she was molested and she wanted to get help for the child. He knew exactly what he was doing.
