MS Sisters Seek Crash Video to Warn of Distracted Driving

Mississippi is one of only eleven states without a law banning talking and texting while driving. The women believe a video of their father's fatal accident will be a powerful tool to change that.

I agree with these girls. There should be laws in Mississippi. I live in MS and we have a lot of laws here. We just don't have enough of enforcement of those laws. Just like the drunk driving, no insurance and on and on. But they are right. Cell phone use is way out of hand. I can't count the times I've almost been hit by people on cell phones. And you know most of them have been adults. Kids get blamed for a lot. But parents are just as guilty. They set an example.

Cant agree with these girls more. Driving home from work now feels like driving home at 1 a.m. on New Years Day. People swerving in and out of lanes, obviously not paying attention, always with a cell phone in their face or to their ear. Studies have shown texting and driving is worse than drunk driving, and talking and driving is almost as bad. Unless you have a Bluetooth or a hands free device, put the cell phone down and pay attention to what you’re doing. People say, “oh, others may be like that, but I can multitask without any problem.” Well I’m the one driving behind or beside you, and I’m tired of you not maintaining speed or drifting into my lane. I don’t care if you die from your own stupid actions, I just don’t want you to kill me or my family.
