MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Police investigating a scene near the airport heard revving engines and burning rubber before two Ford Mustangs took off down American Way.
An affidavit says police had to reach 95 mph before they caught up to the racing cars. When police caught up with the two cars, they looked like they were getting ready for a second race in city streets full of traffic.
When police turned on their lights and sirens, one of the cars stopped, but the other did a u-turn and took off in the opposite direction. Police say 23-year-old Antonio Rocha told them he was racing because the other car challenged him.
Rocha was arrested and charged with drag racing and reckless driving.
