Man Arrested after Guns, Drugs Found in House Fire
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis firefighters found guns, money, and drugs while battling a house fire on the 4500-block of Applegate in the Whitehaven area Wednesday night.

29-year old George Williams was celebrating his brother's birthday when a fire broke out at the home. After firefighters arrived to put out the blaze, they knocked down a ceiling and down came two black bags containing two pounds of marijuana, 540 hydrocodone pills, 5 guns and $7,000.

Bernice Wren, who lives a couple of houses down from Williams, told abc24.com, "That scares you to death when you live in a neighborhood and everything seems so quiet, then all of a sudden all of this happens."

Williams is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He's locked up at the Shelby County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
