MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A man is behind bars for cutting another man's throat during a fight in an elevator.
According to the police affidavit, on January 22, 2012 the victim was leaving a friend's apartment in the medical district when he got on the building's elevator. The suspect, who was already on the elevator, began to fight with the victim and eventually stabbed the victim in the back and cut his throat. The victim walked to The MED where he was admitted in critical condition.
After the victim was released from the hospital several days later, he identified 34-year-old Willie Wooten as his attacker.
Wooten is charged with two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail on $250,000 bond.
