MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police have charged a man with murder after his mother's body was found by firefighters responding to a house fire in Cordova.
The fire occurred at a home on the 9000-block of Higdon Cove just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 7. During a search of the home firefighters discovered the body of an adult female, later identified as Estelle Kim.
The Shelby County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the victim's cause of death as blunt force trauma and strangulation.
Investigators later charged the victim's son, 22-year-old Alexandre Kim, with First Degree Murder. The victim's identity has not been released. Kim is currently being held without bond at the Shelby County Jail.
