MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - An argument between father and son Sunday ended with the son in the hospital and the dad behind bars.
According to the affidavit, 39-year-old Joseph Woods got into a fight with his son, Joseph Woods, Jr., on March 11 at their home on the 3200-block of Princeton. Afterwards they both walked outside, which is when Woods went to a shed behind the house and got at 9mm rifle. Woods walked back to the house and saw his son near his vehicle; he fired one shot at Woods, Jr., hitting him in his left side.
The son was transported to The MED in critical but stable condition.
Joseph Woods was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Commit Crime to wit: Aggravated Assault. He is being held at the Shelby County Jail on $75,000 bond.
