MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A man was arrested Monday morning after a fight with his relative brought a tact unit to southwest Memphis.
Police spent hours on Monday, June 18 outside a home on the 3300-block of Forrester Avenue. They were called there around 2 a.m. after getting a report of shots fired, and initially believed the suspect was barricaded inside.
Police knocked on the door to find out what was going on. After no one answered, officers on the scene called for backup.
It turned out that the suspect, 50-year-old Clyde Wordlaw, was not barricaded inside but was found on the same street and arrested without incident.
According to MPD Sgt. Alyssa Macon-Moore, "When they knocked on the door, they did not get an answer, the suspect did not come to the door. A TACT team was called out to the location and the suspect was located in the 3400-block of Forrester."
Wordlaw is charged with Aggravated Assault; officers also served him with two outstanding felony drug warrants.
