MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A man was killed after a Thursday evening shooting in front of LeMoyne Owen College.
Memphis police were called to the scene on the 800-block of Walker Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 5. When they arrived they found a 29-year-old male victim had been shot. He was transported to The MED in extremely critical condition but later died.
Investigators stated that a white SUV had approached the victim when someone inside the vehicle shot him. So far there are no suspects in custody.
The Bluff City Classic Basketball Tournament was going on inside the gym at the time of the shooting, but police do not believe it was related to the event.
