MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police have arrested a man posing as a woman for carjacking a man on New Year's Day, and was later involved in a hit and run accident in the stolen car.

According to the police affidavit, a man told officers he had picked up a woman who had propositioned him for sex on January 1. When he told her he had no money, she punched him in the face and forced him out of the car. The suspect then drove off in the victim's 1989 Nissan Maxima.

The next day police responded to a hit and run at I-240 near Norris Road involving the stolen Nissan. Witnesses told officers they saw the driver, who appeared to be a woman at first, pull a wig from his head as he ran from the scene.

Fingerprints pulled from the car led investigators to 26-year-old Patrick Riley, who was later identified in a photo line-up as the carjacking suspect and driver of the stolen car.

Riley is charged with Carjacking and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He was booked at the Shelby County Jail on a $40,000 bond.

May not want to put him in jail. He might like it too well.
