MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A man turned himself in to Memphis Police in the early morning hours, telling officers he had stabbed his own mother.
The 46-year-old man, later identified as Everett Dunlap, walked into the Mount Moriah Station just before 4:30am on January 25, 2012. He told officers he had stabbed his mother at their home on the 2900-block of London. Police were sent to check it out, and found 67-year-old Joyce Collins in a back bedroom with multiple stab wounds. An ambulance was called to the house and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
Dunlap has been charged with First Degree Murder.
