Massive Gang Fights Break Out in Ripley, TN

Marsblackmon, gangs have never been a "good thing" for society. You are both delusional AND in need of some history lessons. These thugs ARE the fruits of the Civil Rights Movment, a movement that went from a noble struggle for equal rights to fight for SPECIAL rights which promotes laziness, violence, and a something-for-nothing mentality among black America.

Hey, everyone lay off of spike, alright? For one, I'm pretty sure I know who it is, and for two, I'm living in ripley myself and honestly a large percentage of kids here are either A) illiterate because of teachers not doing their jobs, B) their parents just not giving a crap about them or their schooling, unless taken to court, and C) a LARGE percentile of Lauderdale County students are dyslexic. They don't spell words as they 'should' be spelled but phonetically, the student's best guess at how it might be spelled, based on how it sounds. Talking to most of these students, you would never guess they have a learning hurdle, but once you try to read their writing, it then becomes apparent. BUT. The 'learning disabled' kids here at least TRY, as compared to the 'normal' kids who flat don't even care. Now, as far as the actual news topic. Yes, a LOT of these cops are dirty. As in, pull you over, tell you if you relinquish any drug you might have, they will let you go RIGHT THEN. (as they are speaking to you, you can see they are having withdrawal twitches, because the cartels have abandoned the hwy 51 route right now and therefor there ARE NO DRUGS in the area, hardly, unless bussed up from memphis by dealers) Two, no, the fights were not gun-free, but honestly most of the kids here, who are a large percent of the gang members, and I do mean a LARGE percent, don't have weapons. They fistfight. As a member of RHS I could have told you this was coming. We have had students belonging to (Bloods) and (Vice Lords) fighting all week before this. As in, 10+ students being suspended for fighting PER DAY for THREE DAYS prior to this happening. The big problem is not poor education or the police not being strict enough. It's the parents flat out not giving a d*mn for several generations, which has resulted in a general layout of chaos and discord because the kids are not made to mind their parents, and thus mind no-one at all.

Just shoot and kill of them and the problem will be solved.

If factories closing down was a cause for this, then why weren't these idiots at the big job fares yesterday instead of in the street acting like fools?

Across the USA there should be a "WAR ON GANGS' same as there is a war on terrorist. These gangs are terrorist and should be treated as such. Until Law Enforcement really get serious about cracking down on these thugs, Male and Female, they will continue to run free in our communities doing what they do best, killing and scaring people to death. We have a war in America (GANGS), why can't we win this one?

I don't understand. Am I to believe that gang members actually fought each other, without guns? After seeing Spike's comments, I'm pretty sure that poor education is the key to the problems they are having in Ripley. Asside from that, I think it's high time that they black community appologized to Bill Cosby and to beg him for more advice.

Actually during th 60s and 70s gangs was actually positive for the community, feeding the hungry being mentors to kids, teaching people job skills. How did it fall apart, when drugs and guns came in the picture, after factories where blacks worked and made a living shut down, a man will do anything to feed his appetite and is never satisfied. Me being black myself, I am tired of this gang crap myself, I will admit that Marshall law should be conducted, arrest anyone suspicious, men and women, the city of ripley should send a message to gang members, that they are not playing with them anymore, before it gets worse. 400 people in a brawl there is no excuse to fight over some color. Gang members are nothing but ministers of Satan. And must be driven out.
