Mayor Luttrell Considers Veto of Sales Tax Increase

It costs a dollar and nine cents to get anything for a dollar in Shelby County. Pretty soon it could cost about a dollar and ten cents. If county voters approve a sales tax increase on the November ballot, then it’ll happen.

WHAT?? Schools suck up a tremendous amount of money, for little or no benefit. There's simply no evidence that more money equals more education.

Tn already has the highest taxes in the US. If they tax, for heavens sake use the money for their already defunct schools. Memphis needs to quite trying to suck up every penny for everything but the schools!
