MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Thanks to Valentine's Day, local business is booming. At Memphis-based Dinstuhl's Fine Candy, sales are up more than 10 percent over last year. They're working around the clock the day before Valentine's Day to meet demand.

The day before Valentine's Day is the candy shop's busiest day of the year. They use more than 2,000 pounds of chocolate and dip 200 flats of strawberries. The shop's chocolatier of more than 50 years, Tommy Washington, says, "On Valentine's Day, there's no limit, so we have to work until we get through."

The strawberries are handmade, hand packed and hand delivered, made and sold the same day. The company's President, Rebecca Dinstuhl, says, "Many people don't realize it is all made by hand. Each piece is made by hand. A lot of people think we push a button and it comes out, like a lot of manufacturers. But Dinstuhl's takes pride in what we do."
Among Dinstuhl's online orders are customers in California, Washington, New York, and New Jersey. FedEx will ship 150 pounds strawberries overnight to make sure they arrive in time for Valentine's Day.
