Memphis City Council, Unions Seek Budget Compromise

At Memphis City Hall it almost seemed as though cats and dogs were living together. Council members met with city employee unions to talk about making sure workers keep getting a check and avoid layoffs or pay cuts.

There should be no such thing as a public employee union. If layoffs or pay cuts are necessary, grow a set and do it. Most of them have a pretty sweet deal, compared to private sector jobs. A lot of their jobs could be privatized. If they don't like their situation, let 'em go elsewhere.

Have the city union workers talk to the Hostess workers about how good of a job thier union helped them out in this economy.
