There are no public restrooms on Beale. Where do you think the millions of tourists that come, and the locals, piss at when downtown. Any corner or bush they can find.

The smell is not from the horse it is from the mayors office, the corrupt police department, and city hall.

Let's just hold our noses for a day or two and see what the other cities with carriages are doing. Nope were not the center of the universe, there are others out there. Only difference is the others out there aren't nominated for awards like Highest crime rate, highest syphylus rate, highest new born death rate, most pregnant children in school rate. The carriages are filthy; the drivers need to clean up their act (this may be what we are smelling), and the dogs could stand a little cleaning. I wouldn't get on one of those things from what I have seen. However, I do agree that the City Council should have more pressing business than to make this an important topic for their meetings. The entire city is falling apart and all they can discuss is horses, give me a break. (THE)

Are you sure it's the horse? I think the Bum piss stinks worse..Don't try and cover the homeless smells with the horses....When I'm downtown walking I smell it everywhere and it is bad...I have smelled horse pee and it's nothing compared to human stench from bad kidneys full of alcohol. The streets are the only restroom they have and they go everywhere...I think you have it confused....

poor horses, they work so hard as do the carriage drivers and city council people pick on them. as previous posters have posted, cant u guys complain about more important matters? Drugs, thugs, gangs, murders, homeless people, shelters should be built for them, taxes are sky high, please leave the horses alone. They are at least working for their feed

I'm so tired of living in this city!!!!!!!!!!The City Council needs to spend more time on important issues going on around here not on this nit picking bull crap. We happen to be top on the list of the poorest cities, spend time finding ways to fix this city. Get off the backs of the tax payers and start doing your jobs.

Like noone has every seen a person taking a whiz out in public downtown. Come on you Morons quit wasting your time on trivial matters and get to the real job at hand. I am sorry to say, but they are just being lazy. If they had any brains they would have read our ordinance. There is already rules saying we are responsible for cleaning up behind our horses. We cary solvents to spray down along with dumping buckets of water to wash it down. I can promise that if one of the lazy council people would come down and do our job for a night and see what we see, they would leave us alone along with an appoligy. It is the drunks and the homeless urinating in our alleys and parks. I have seen it many many times. So before you go blaming someone or something for a problem the city has, why don't you get up off your lazy buts and actually take a look, do your research and etc. But im sure that would be to much to ask.

Every day that passes this city and its moronic city staff become more and more disgusting and the stench has nothing to do with horses and everything to do with runaway crime, filthy conditions because citizens are lazy good for nothings who think it is everyone elses responsibility but theirs, and repugnant criminal leaders whose sole purpose is to advance themselves in some way. This city would have to be blown up and started over to become what it once was years and years ago. Sad, but true.
