MEMPHIS, TN--A Memphis City employee is charged with theft after officials say he used city money to order parts for his personal car.
According to a police affidavit, on October 8th, Eric Woodson ordered a fuel pump for his work vehicle through the General Services Division'd fleet management shop. When the part arrived the next day, Woodson picked it up from the parts counter. An internal audit revealed that the part was never installed in Woodson's assigned vehicle. Woodson admitted that he had installed the part in his personal vehicle. The cost of the car part was $302.00.
Woodson has been employed with the City of Memphis since March 18, 1996. He was terminated on Friday, October 12th.
