Memphis Council Sends Message to Nashville over Park Names

The Memphis City Council has a message to state lawmakers when it comes to renaming city parks: stay out of the Bluff City's business.

I agree, it's an awful name. Why not name it after Dr. Lemuel Diggs? Dr. Diggs was a UT professor who pioneered some of the first blood banks in the US, researched sickle cell disease and established a sickle cell library and clinic. He's also the guy who gave Danny Thomas the idea to make St. Jude a research hospital.

first off - what idiot thought it was a good idea to ask janice for a statement? i mean she is the perfect poster child for everyhting this town is...... pathedic. we really should give the parks names that reflect this town. welfare park , handout park , let me getz mines park , entitlement park ... yes the democrats have done wonders for this town.
