MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A teen home invasion suspect is dead after he was shot by the homeowner in southeast Memphis Friday morning.
Memphis police were called to the 4900-block of Copper Valley Cove around 11 a.m. on Friday, November 16. Officers say three suspects had forced their way into the home when the homeowner opened fire. The three suspects ran from the scene, and officers found one suspect, 16, lying on the ground on a nearby street suffering from a gunshot wound. The teen was transported to The MED in critical condition where he later died.
The other two suspects were apprehended after a brief search. They were later identified as Cory Burford, 20, and Kyle Baptiste, 14; both were charged with Aggravated Burglary.
