MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP, abc24.com) - Jurors are now deliberating whether two Memphis men were contract killers for a multistate drug trafficking organization with ties to a Mexican drug cartel.

The 12-person jury began deliberations Thursday at 3 p.m.in the federal trial of Clinton Lewis and his cousin Martin Lewis.

The Lewises are charged with being enforcers for the drug gang led by Craig Petties, who has pleaded guilty to racketeering and ordering the murders of four people who were threats to his organization.

The trial is in its seventh week. Witnesses have included men who have been convicted or pleaded guilty to being drug dealers and killers for the Petties gang from 1995 to 2008.
